Stress
When you're stressed, your body feels it and reacts. It's designed to do this, to make you alert and ready to avoid a threat. But it's not pleasant or easy to deal with, and if stress persists, your body begins to stop working properly and illness may begin. Stress is one of the most serious health problems today. Stress means different things to different people. What you perceive as stress may be an exciting challenge to another person. Someone else's stress may not be something that would stress you. We all think and feel differently and our own stress is very real. Stress is debilitating and can take over our lives, affecting our health, energy, relationships and work, and it can stop us from getting on with life. Ignoring your stress is not the answer. Neither is shelving it, burying it or pretending that everything is okay. You may need to put on a brave face for the rest of the world, but being honest with yourself is the key to helping yourself to feel better. You cannot always avoid or change the situations or people that cause you stress. You may feel trapped and unable to cope. The key to coping is to identify what causes your stress and to learn ways of dealing with it. In doing so, you often reduce or eliminate the stress. This is where we can help you.
